One I Remember

Part 13
After our last meeting at my place, Danushka spent much of his time inside his office room, door closed. Sometimes I felt he was drunk. I try not to think about it. The days went fast. Tomorrow Jerome is leaving country. He came to my office that evening and we went to my apartment. It was raining and dark outside. There were some guys waiting by the entrance. When we were passing them, I heard.
‘He is the one’
I looked where it came from and saw one guy pointing a gun towards Jerome. I covered Jerome and hugged him.
‘ALWAYS’ I whispered to him.
Then I heard two gunshots. We fell down together and I heard the third gunshot. What have you done,Danushka!
First I lost sense of my body. Then came dreamless sleep.
It ended.
